How does Rejuvapen Microneedling work?
Rejuvapen relies on a process known as Fractional Collagen Induction Therapy, also known as micro-needling. The Rejuvapen has nine tiny needles made of surgical grade stainless steel. These needles penetrate the upper layer of skin and break up old strands of collagen in the lower layer. From there, the body’s natural healing response takes over. Your skin will produce more collagen and elastin, giving you smoother, tighter, more even-toned skin.

Is Rejuvapen safe?
Rejuvapen is FDA approved, and only licensed professionals are allowed to use it. The treatments are safe, quick, and efficient. Rejuvapen is designed not to penetrate the skin too far, and the needles are designed to be as small as possible, so they cause minimal injury to the epidermis.

Does microneedling hurt?
Depending on the depth of the treatment, numbing creams can be used to provide patient comfort. The applicator can also be set to a pre-determined length, but this will depend on your skin condition. Patients undergoing treatments with shorter needle will feel a slight tickling sensation, but for those who need more depth, numbing creams can be applied.

What should I expect after my microneedling treatment?
Expect redness on the treated area the following day after your Rejuvapen treatment. We advise arranging two days of downtime. Stay out of the sun. The redness often subsides within 48 hours.

How many microneedling treatment sessions will I need?
Each person’s skin condition vary, requiring different levels of treatment. People with fine lines and mild wrinkles may notice improvement after only one treatment. Those with deep acne scarring, deep wrinkles and severe hyperpigmentation may need more than one session. The number of treatment sessions needed will be determined during the consultation.

What are things I should avoid after my microneedling treatment?

•  At least 3 days after the treatment, do not use any ‘active’ skincare products that contains Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), Vitamin C and retinol.
•  Avoid direct exposure to sunlight within 24 hours.
•  Stay away from tanning beds,
•  Avoid swimming at least 24 hours after the treatment
•  No strenuous exercise or activity for the first 24 hours after the treatment. Sweating may cause spread of bacteria, causing adverse reaction.
