How does the treatment feel?
There literally is no truly pain-free or discomfort-free procedure that’s effective for inducing the body to create new collagen. Most patients consider this treatment to be very tolerable; however, because it incorporates heat, some patients do experience discomfort during this treatment. Your practitioner will engage a variety of comfort measures to ensure the best possible experience and will frequently ask you to rate your level of discomfort, and adjustments will be made accordingly with your input. High-concentration BLT topical numbing cream will be applied an hour prior to the treatment. We will also use chilled air to help take away the heat and make the treatment more comfortable. Compared with CO2 lasers, many find TotalSkin Solution much more tolerable.
How long is the downtime?
This is one of our favorite parts of this treatment, because it’s very minimal. You’ll notice some swelling and redness for the rest of the day of your treatment, but within three days most of this will subside. Most people resume normal activities within 48 hours.
How long does the treatment take and how many session will I need?
Depending on the area being treated, it can take up to 2 hours for one area (numbing time included). More time is needed for additional areas. Your practitioner will discuss your goals which will determine the length and number of treatments you will need. Many see results after just 1 treatment but it typically takes 3 treatments to get optimal results as opposed to 6 treatments as with many other treatments.
Who can get TotalSkin Solution?
TotalSkin Solution can be used on all skin types and skin tones. Most healthy individuals can get it, however, we need to consult with you in advance to make sure you don’t have any conditions that would interfere with treatment.
How quickly will I see results?
You can expect to see some changes as soon as a day or two after the procedure. However, your body will continue to rebuild the collagen and elastin for several weeks after that, so you will see improvement over the next six months. The process of collagen building takes time, so be patient.
How long do the results last?
Unlike many other procedures, TotalSkin Solution has long-lasting results since it is your own body that is at work. The effects could last for years. Follow up “maintenance” treatments on a yearly basis will help keep new collagen production at higher levels.
