Following your consultation with practitioner and the formulation of a treatment plan, you will be scheduled in for your procedure. Upon arrival your skin will be cleaned and a topical numbing cream will be applied. Once the skin is numb, the treatment commences, taking around 20-30 minutes depending on the areas treated. The treatment involves passing the RF Genius handpiece over the skin. The handpiece has small gold plated needles which penetrate the skin and release the RF energy. The treatment is occasionally uncomfortable however most clients find it tolerable. You will feel a heat sensation as the needles pass through the skin but due to the speed of treatment, this is not particularly painful. Following the treatment, the skin will be red and possibly swollen. Post-procedure recovery creams and sunscreen will be applied. We also recommend the use of our healing peptide masks and the LED therapy following the RF Microneedling treatment.
First of all, what is Genius RF Microneedling?
Radio-frequency (RF) Microneedling is an aesthetic procedure that uses very fine gold-plated needles and high-frequency radio waves to stimulate collagen growth, smoothing out wrinkles, acne scars, uneven texture, and skin laxity.
What is RF?
Radio-frequency (RF) is simply heat energy that’s used to tighten and lift your skin. The end result is a noticeable reduction in wrinkles, laxity, and scars. The heat has the added effect of stimulating collagen and elastin in the deep layers of your skin.
How does Genius RF Microneedling stand out among similar platforms?
Genius RF Microneedling has a very unique advantage over the rest. Every time a treatment like this is performed, your practitioner programs the device to deliver a specified amount of energy based on your skin’s condition. But as the treatment progresses and the skin is passed over multiple times, the impedance of your skin can change because of the controlled micro injuries being caused. Genius uses smart technology in its state-of-the-art handpiece which analyzes the skin as it passes, allowing for changes in needle penetration depth and delivery of RF energy to account for differences in skin thickness and impedance. How does the treatment feel?
There literally is no truly pain-free or discomfort-free procedure that’s effective for inducing the body to create new collagen. Most patients consider this treatment to be very tolerable; however, because it incorporates heat, some patients do experience discomfort during this treatment. Your practitioner will engage a variety of comfort measures to ensure the best possible experience and will frequently ask you to rate your level of discomfort, and adjustments will be made accordingly with your input. High-concentration BLT topical numbing cream will be applied an hour prior to the treatment. We will also use chilled air to help take away the heat and make the treatment more comfortable. Compared with CO2 lasers, many find RF Microneedling much more tolerable.
How long is the downtime?
This is one of our favorite parts of this treatment, because it’s very minimal. You’ll notice some swelling and redness for the rest of the day of your treatment, but within three days most of this will subside. Most people resume normal activities within 48 hours.
How quickly will I see results?
You can expect to see some changes as soon as a day or two after the procedure. However, your body will continue to rebuild the collagen and elastin for several weeks after that, so you will see improvement over the next six months. The process of collagen building takes time, so be patient.
How long do the results last?
Unlike many other procedures, RF Microneedling has long-lasting results since it is your own body that is at work. The effects could last for years. Follow up “maintenance” treatments on a yearly basis will help keep new collagen production at higher levels.
How long does the treatment take and how many session will I need?
Depending on the area being treated, it can take up to 1.5 hours for one area (numbing time included). More time is needed for additional areas. Your practitioner will discuss your goals which will determine the length and number of treatments you will need. Many see results after just 1 treatment but it typically takes 3 treatments to get optimal results as opposed to 6 treatments as with many other treatments.

RF Microneedling can be used on all skin types and skin tones. Most healthy individuals can get it, however, we need to consult with you in advance to make sure you don’t have any conditions that would interfere with treatment.
