LASEMD ULTRA™
FRACTIONAL LASER RESURFACING
— IN ANN ARBOR —

Dubbed a “lunchtime laser”, or “Happy Laser” due to how quick and effective the treatment sessions are!

FDA-approved LaseMD Ultra by Lutronic is considered the “next-generation” in non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. LaseMD Ultra™ features a 1927 nm Thulium laser, which is safe for all skin types & tones, highly customizable for your needs, extremely cost-effective, and can be performed all year around. With treatments ranging from mild to aggressive, the LaseMD Ultra™ is quickly becoming very popular with patients who want immediate visible results minus the recovery time.

LaseMD Ultra can be used across all areas of the body. Remove years from your face, neck, and hands this quick and effective skin resurfacing treatment.

Microscopic laser columns in a fractional pixelated pattern. Up to 225 columns per cm².

LaseMD Ultra is more powerful than Clear+Brilliant, Fraxel, and Moxi and requires fewer treatment session.

This gentle but effective laser procedure uses a patented fractional technology creating microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into the skin. The laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time in a pixelated pattern, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched to promote rapid healing. The controlled damage created by the laser stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, replacing the old and damaged skin with fresh, rejuvenated, healthy skin. Immediately after the procedure, the skin acts as a sponge for serums containing growth factors, nano-peptides, vitamins, antioxidants, and/or pigment reducers. Results are both immediate and progressive. A series of treatments is highly recommended to encourage optimal results.

LaseMD Ultra has the highest available power
LaseMD Ultra is the most powerful thulium laser at the moment, providing 20 watts of power compared to the 10 watts with other devices. Devices like Clear + Brilliant Permea, Fraxel Dual 1927, Moxi, and LaseMD Ultra all use the same wavelength because it’s great for treating pigmentation and other issues. However, LaseMD Ultra is several times stronger than all these options. LaseMD Ultra is more tunable (1-20mJ). This means it can provide a wide range of treatment intensities, from a very mild treatment to more aggressive treatment. Fraxel offers a more limited treatment intensity range (5-20mJ).

LaseMD Ultra requires fewer sessions
Since it is a higher-powered device, LaseMD Ultra usually requires fewer treatment sessions than Clear + Brilliant. With LaseMD Ultra, we recommend an initial series of three (3) treatments to patients who want to see a significant improvement in the quality of their skin. Other devices require four to six treatments to patients looking for optimal results.

Treatments are more customizable
Clear + Brilliant, often called “baby Fraxel,” is known for delivering light and gentle treatments. Meanwhile, LaseMD Ultra can do it all — from mild resurfacing to a more aggressive approach. It depends on what intensity is right for you.

It can target more skin conditions and concerns
LaseMD Ultra is the most versatile of all other devices.

Patients of all ages can benefit
Most patients who get Clear + Brilliant treatments are interested in preventing and reversing early signs of aging. They tend to be in their 20s and 30s. Meanwhile, LaseMD Ultra patients are more diverse in age. Regardless of how old you are, there is a good chance that the treatment can meet your needs.

Ablative lasers like CO2 treat complexion concerns by removing the top layers of the skin. LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative laser that leaves the top layer of the skin intact. Non-ablative lasers are less invasive, more comfortable and have shorter recovery times. Ablative lasers involve more discomfort and significantly longer downtime, but they are powerful and achieve results more rapidly. Both laser resurfacing options are safe in experienced hands and effective. The right type of laser for you depends on your needs and goals.

A treatment typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area. Depending on the intensity of the treatment, your provider will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area. Once you’re fully numb, you’ll put on eye protection. Then your provider will move the LaseMD handpiece across the treatment area. Its laser energy will penetrate the dermal layers via microchannels. You’ll feel tingling, and possibly some mild discomfort, depending on the intensity level of your treatment. After your treatment, your provider may apply topical serums with antioxidants and other potent ingredients, which will penetrate into the lower layers of your skin via the microchannels. They may also apply a moisturizer, since the heat from the laser tends to dry out skin.
